Calculation rules used by this tool
- Reaction Time and Dial-in Difference (+/-) are calculated completely independently. A red light only fouls the RT calculation; a breakout only fouls the dial-in diff calculation. One never affects the other.
- Within whichever metric you've selected, a result is a foul if that metric's value is negative for that run (red light for RT, breakout for dial-in diff), if no time was recorded, or if the racer didn't enter that round at all (no-show).
- A clean (non-fouled) result worse than the cap set above the tables — 1.000 second by default — is treated as no worse than that cap, both for the racer's own average and for that round's clean pool. This stops one bad mechanical run from skewing the round average that gets handed to everyone who fouled.
- The round average for a metric is the average of every clean, positive (and cap-limited) value for that metric from every racer in that round.
- A fouled or no-show result is replaced with that round's average plus the penalty set above the tables (0.150 by default), before it counts toward anyone's group average.
- Every racer is expected to have one result per round processed. If they don't appear in a round's PDF at all, they're marked as a no-show for that round and given the penalised round average.
- Racers are matched across rounds by race number + name together. Where a name appears under more than one race number, or a race number appears under more than one name, it's listed in Data review rather than silently merged.
- If a racer appears more than once within the same round, only their most recent (latest timestamp) entry counts as that round's attempt.
